Kuching, the city of Cats

It is about one hour flight from Singapore to reach Kuching, which is the capital of Sarawk, locates southern-west part of Bornean Malaysia. "Kuching" means "Cats" in Malay. This calm city consists the mixture of old buildings since rajah's period, colorful sing boards of Chinese merchants, magnificent mosques and modern shopping malls. The large brownish river flows slowly in the middle of the city, from west to east, uniting such chaotic elements to the city view. It is quite attractive not only for cat lovers, but also for every visitor to the city. We gathered in this city to join Borneo Biodiversity Workshop on October 28th, 2013.
