Juri Suzuki reports final settlement of SRV outbreak

Juri Suzuki has continued reporting in-house outbreak of the infectious thrombocytepenia of Japanese macaques in ASZWM meeting for the last couple of years.

Primate Research Institute of Kyoto University, Japan, had two peaks of the disease outbreak in the last decade. This disease characterized by almost complete depletion of thrombocytes and related hemorrhagic death started as cause unknown.

This year of meeting, he specified simian beta-retrovirus type 4 (SRV-4) as the pathogen from the results of the fine experimental infections in their laboratory. He also specified two monkeys as the infectious source for EIA examinations on huge amount of pooled sera.

These results mean they have settled finally the terrible outbreaks.
